HAWTHORNE & POE ON DREAMS
When you read both Hawthorne’s and Poe’s stories we learn that they both have similar things in their stories like rhyming or teaching us a lesson but one thing in particular that I am going to be talking about is when they both had a similar part about dreaming in Hawthorne’s book we learn that a character named young Goodman brown is in a place where he doesn’t know of people are true to their character and he later finds himself back to the place he removers but he doesn’t know if he is dreaming or not but in Edgar Allen Poe’s poem we see that it is about a man who is trying to leave but we know that it is a dream because they state at the end “it is a dream within a dream” we see in both stories that they both have indications that some are real and some are fake and a way to tell is to see what words they use like awoke or feel because you know what was a dream and what wasn’t
