The Socratic Method

When I first heard about the Socratic method I had no clue what it was. But I was surprised to learn that it is a method used in my class. That has us consistently ask questions. Include dialogue have answers and criticism. The Socratic method is supposed to help us with our thinking skills and the way we understand things. My favorite quote from the blog is “Another advantage of the Socratic method is that it fosters critical thinking skills that remain long after the particular subject matter is forgotten by critical thinking skills”. I like this quote from the article because it almost tells you what the whole point of the Socratic method is and it makes you think that you’ve actually used the Socratic method once or more in your life. I definitely think that I will use the Socratic method a few more times in life but I won’t really notice it. I think it is a great skill to have.
